I talked in yesterday’s blog about how doing something this week is infinitely more beneficial than doing nothing.
And how the whole thought process of “leaving it till next week” is probably our biggest derailer of forward progress and success.
Often when discussing this with people, one of the underpinning thought process that will come up is the title to this blog.
When someone doesn’t feel like they “can give it 100%” this week (or month)……….
It’s tempting to wait until they feel that they can.
“Why’s that?” I might ask.
“Erm, because that’s what’s needed, isn’t it?”
Another easy one to answer;
“No”
If decades of helping people with this kind of thing (and twice as long of being a human myself) has taught me anything………..
It’s that 100% is not only not needed………
It’s also pretty much impossible for the vast majority of us.
100% is, arguably, training and eating like a professional athlete.
What we’re doing is never going to be as much as that.
It’s always going to be less than 100%.
So why not do 50% of that rather than waiting for when we feel we can do 75% (other numbers are available)?
Any decisions that are better than what we could have done will make us better progress.
Damage limitation is always more beneficial than damage.
Maintenance is always better than regression.
Slight progress is always better than maintenance.
Not only is 100% not possible, we don’t actually need it.
Let’s just do the percent this week that we can (or, at the very least, more than it could end up being) —- clicking www.myrise.co.uk/apply and taking the next step to trying out what we do will make it all way better than it will be otherwise – I guarantee that!)
Much love,
