If you’ve read these blogs for any length of time, you’ll know that they’re often inspired by conversations I’ve had with people.

Sometimes I end up having a similar conversation with several people in a row and it’s a reminder that they’ll be many others thinking or feeling the same way.

The other day I had several people in a row say pretty much the exact same thing to me.

“I’m fine when I set my mind to it”

Which I’m sure we’ve all said, haven’t we?

I know I have.

Because we all are, I’m sure.

When we “set our mind to it” we’ll find it relatively easy to make some better food, exercise and lifestyle choices.

What happens when our “mind is set to it” is rarely the issue, is it?

It’s what happens when it isn’t.

It’s our default habits and behaviours that we revert to.

Which, let’s be honest, make up the vast majority of our months, years and decades.

And, therefore, our results.

With that being said, concentrating on what we do when our mind is not “set to it” will be a bigger win than what we do when it is.

And, from my experience (20 years), our biggest win usually comes from challenging that “all or nothing” mindset.

Becoming “ok” with knowingly sup-optimal, but “done”.

Just making better choices than we could have done under the circumstances.

Not using ‘less than perfect’ as a justification to do even more of the same.

Realising that “writing off” days / weekends / weeks / months doesn’t actually make any sense.

Acknowledging that previous decisions do not have to have any bearing on the decision in front of us, unless we choose them to.

What happens when we “set out minds to it” has never been a problem.

Let’s concentrate on what happens when it’s not (clicking this link is the biggest difference maker you’ll ever take for this by the way –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) .

Much love,
