The other week the engine fault light came on on our Citroen C4.

It gave 1,000 miles to get it fixed before the engine wouldn’t start.

We’ve previously always used the Citroen Dealership at Stockport to get it fixed.

But nearly every time we’ve been there they’ve messed something up (a long story for another time).

So I decided to try the Citroen dealership at Sale.

Booked in for the first time they had a rental car available.

Decided to tie it in with a trip to Awesome Walls at Stockport that the boys have been asking for a while.

The plan was to drop the C4 at Sale, take the hire care to Awesome Walls, back to Macc and then use it to collect the C4 later.

Needless to say the Sale Citroen guys seem every bit as incompetent as their Stockport counterparts.

No record of a car being needed at their end and none available.

If I hadn’t have taken the boys with me I’d have just got public transport home.

But it involved two reasonably long walks and wasn’t fair on them.

If I’d known there was no car, Alex would’ve come in the C3 and picked me up and I’d have dropped her at work in Manchester, but she’d just got on the train.

After considering various options, I’ve decided to get an Uber home, get the other C3 keys, continue in the Uber to Macc train station and get the C3, then head up to Awesome Walls.

There’s a part of me that feels like screaming and shouting at the Citroen people.

It’s been years of incompetence and being messed around by them.

But I know it won’t help.

I have two choices.

Take the Uber, lose that cost and a bit of time and be annoyed all day, affect the time I have with the kids and set the example that that’s how you deal with unexpected challenges and potential frustrations.

Or……..

Take the Uber, lose that cost and a bit of time, let it go, enjoy the time I have with the kids and set the example that that’s how you deal with unexpected challenges and potential frustrations.

———- And get a blog out of it – I’m writing this in the Uber ———

Because, often, that’s the only choice we have.

Not what happens.

But how we respond to it.

Our greatest freedom lies in the understanding that between impulse and response………

There is a gap.

We can choose to react.

Or we can respond.

——— By far the best response you could choose now is to click this link and apply –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply ———

We can make the best of a bad situation.

Or we can let it derail us more than it has to.

We can choose to see it entirely as a negative.

Or look for the positives we can gain.

Like anything, this is a learned skill.

Starts hard.

Gets easier with practice.

Much love,
