💡💡💡

Last Monday to Wednesday, I shared with you a few insights I gained on the Break Point event I took part in the previous Wednesday.

I had more things I thought (potentially incorrectly) that you might be interested in.

But, I’ll be honest, I ran out of time to get the blogs written so popped a couple in that I’d already completed earlier.

——– My notes system always has several or more blogs in various states of progress and hundreds and hundreds of ideas waiting to be ‘explored’ ———–

So, today and tomorrow, I’ve got two more that would’ve made a nice round five last week.

Then I’ve got some Christmassy themed ones for you.

Not your standard “5 ways to not gain weight over Christmas” – you know me better than that.

So………..

One skill I’ve been working on this year is ‘being present’.

Concentrating on the ‘here and now’ as much as possible.

Spending less time in the future and the past.

———- Here’s a bonus insight for you: The past is nothing but a present time memory with our imaginations filling in most of the gaps and all of the meaning ———–

There is an amount of value to be spent thinking about the past and future, of course.

But it’s diminishing returns.

And, past a point, it can make things worse.

Nearly all anxiety exists in future based thoughts.

We’re rarely very worried about what’s happening this very second, are we?

It’s the thinking about what’ll happen in 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days, 5 weeks or 5 months.

And again, there is an amount of value in thinking about those things.

Putting plans in place to mean that, when we get there, things work out well.

But, again, once we’ve passed that point?

Little extra value to be gained.

More probability of worry, anxiety, those feelings of struggle and more.

Less to be extracted from the present (the only thing that really exists).

A great question I’ve learned to ask is……..

“What’s actually happening right now?”

I asked myself that.

“I’m just stood in a field, my muscles hurt and my hands are really cold” was my answer.

That’s it.

That wasn’t so bad.

Questions are the steering wheel of the mind.

And “what’s actually happening right now?” is a great one for pulling us back on course.

A great question to ask now is “Would I like to lose 20lbs, potentially for free, in the New Year?” If the answer is yes, click this link –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting
