In today’s fast-paced world, many of us find ourselves saying the same thing: “I’m too busy.” If you live in Macclesfield and can relate, you’re not alone. The reality is that getting started on your fitness journey can seem challenging when you’re caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. However, at RISE, the concept of “busy fitness Macclesfield” isn’t just an excuse; it’s an opportunity to discover the benefits of integrating fitness into your daily routine, no matter how full your schedule may be.
I understand that people are busy.
That they’ve got a lot on.
I get that from both over 23 years of doing this and over 45 years of being a busy human.
I get this from balancing a busy business, a wife with a really full on job, four kids spread across three schools and colleges over 20+ miles and so on.
But what I also get from all of that, is that this is always going to be the case to some degree.
That we’ll always be fairly busy and have a lot on.
Sure they’ll be peaks and troughs.
But, if nearly a quarter of a century of experience has taught me anything……..
It’s that people get in shape not when they stop being busy……..
But when they accept that doing what they can under the circumstances now will always beat putting it off.
That ‘knowingly suboptimal and done now’ adds up to far more results than ‘theoretically better and eternally deferred’ (it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply when you’ve made peace with that)
I’ll dispute any of us are too busy to do things that don’t take any additional time.
And I’ll also dispute, in the vast majority of cases, we were genuinely too busy to not exercise at all.
What we might be too busy to do is some theoretically ideal version of exercise that we’ve put in our own heads.
Where it’s an hour or two three or four times a week.
But if we haven’t exercised in a month was it really that we were too busy to not be able to assign several lots of five minutes in the last 50,000?
Or was it that we just told ourselves that five minutes of exercise wasn’t worth doing?
Ultimately, I get that we’re busy.
But, unless our schedule is genuinely 100% full of more important stuff that can’t be moved (no TV, scrolling the phone, etc)……….
And we’re already 100% on food choices that don’t take any additional time………
Then I’d say that “busyness” doesn’t need to be the complete block it can seem to be.
