When I returned to work on Monday one of the first things I did was my InBody Assessment.
For those that don’t know, it’s a super fancy scale that we have that gives a really comprehensive overview of our body composition and other important measurements.
As you probably worked out from the blog title, it was the worst it’s been in many years.
I got super lean for my 40th birthday four and half years ago.
That wasn’t maintainable but I stayed slightly heavier than that for the next couple of years.
For the last two years my weight’s been gradually creeping up.
I tell you this for two reasons.
Firstly for authenticity reasons.
Many Fitness Professionals will hide the less perfect aspects of their life.
Whether that be weight gain, other body changes or anything else.
Uncoincidentally, many Fitness Professionals are off-putting to the vast majority of the population.
I’ll always tell you the truth so that you’ll always know I’m telling the truth.
And so that you know that I’m a real person.
Not the broccoli eating, burpee loving robot that is tempting to see FitPros as (it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply to be trained and supported by real people who are honest with you and be surround by like-minded people on the same journey)
And, secondly, it’s to let you know that I have a plan.
An actual plan.
Not just telling myself that “I know what I need to do, I just need to do it”.
Not something vague like “eating better” or “more exercise”.
A real plan with specifics.
I’ve scheduled all my workouts and what they’re going to be for the coming weeks.
They might end up having to be rescheduled to different times, but there’s an actual plan as to when they’re going to happen and what I will do.
I’ve recently slipped into the habit of just exercising whenever and doing what I feel like.
And I’ve set a specific plan around my eating – an average number of calories per day (a 1,000 calorie a day deficit for me) and what that will look like the majority of the time.
There’s some flexibility in it, but there’s an actual plan.
And I’ve created the leverage that I’ve mentioned in yesterday’s blog.
I’ve announced what I’m doing here.
I’m saying now that I’ll be under 90kg by the end of October (currently 99.5kg).
I’ll keep you updated.
Much love,
Jon ‘the first thing that comes up on Google for ‘Heavy……’ is “heavy cream”‘ Hall
