In Tuesday’s blog, I talked about how our trip to New York didn’t cost anywhere is near as much as it might have appeared.
It did, of course, all add up though.
And there was a few things we spent more on than we expected.
Travel being one.
There was a few times where we decided to get a taxi rather than the public transport we originally intended.
The kids we’re flagging and it seemed a good investment in the amount of enjoyment we would have.
Or something had run a bit longer than we’d expected and we were tight for time.
And, much as we tried to keep it down, we did spend more on food than I’d expected.
And, at times, I was tempted to think “Sod it – we’re already over spent” and just get another taxi or go for another easier food option.
In for a cent, in for a dollar if you will.
But, as I’m sure you’ll agree, that doesn’t really make any sense.
If anything, the most sensible thing to do when we’ve over spent is to spend less going forward.
Or, at the very least, keep to the original spending plans.
Weather that’s spending money or calories.
Much love,
Jon ‘And if I share with you my story would you share your dollar with me?’ Hall
