Hands up if you’re not 100% happy with your body?

I should imagine every hand reading this (or hand of the person reading this if we’re being precise) just went up.

Mine did.

Let’s ‘park’ stuff you can’t change (height, skin marks, the general way you look, etc).

Out of the stuff you could, in theory, change………

What would you say is the reason for it not being closer to where you’d like?

Go on – it’s not a trick question.

What do you think?

From experience I’d say most answers will be variations of;

– Too busy / lack of time
– Struggle with motivation / willpower
– Age, injuries, illness, etc
– “Like my food too much”
– Socialising, commitments, other people, etc

All valid considerations.

I wouldn’t dream of telling you otherwise.

They may all be perfectly valid reasons that stop you getting to a certain level of result.

All the way to where you’d like to be.

Whatever that looks like.

But is there somewhere in between, that you could still do?

That might not get you in the Olympics or on the cover of a fitness magazine.

But will get you to a position you’re more happy with than now?

You might not feel motivated to do what needs to be done to get abs your can grate cheese on……..

But are you motivated enough to create a medium sized calorie deficit and do at least a little exercise each week……..

So you end up with a body that feels nicer, has more energy and supports better mood?

You might be too busy and have too many commitments to get back to your body of 10 or 20 years ago……….

But could you just make few changes so that you get back to the one of 5 years ago?

Could you still eat food you like but in average maintenance calories across the week?

And so on.

The reasons we have are valid.

They may well be sufficient to stop us getting all the way from where we are now to where we’d, ideally, like to get to.

But could we just do what we can to get to somewhere in between?

Much love,

Jon ‘Cake or death’ Hall

P.S. You know the score by now. You really want to make changes in 2022? The same stuff that didn’t make (lasting) changes before won’t do it. This might just –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply. Less than a week to the annual price change. Why wait?
