Last Tuesday was our monthly find-out-more meeting.

A chance for people to come to the club, meet us and learn a bit about what we do.

And then decide if it’s for them (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you’re still undecided).

Many people coming in at this point are somewhat nervous and apprehensive.

Which we get.

We feel the same when we step out of our comfort zone.

When we go somewhere new and don’t know what to fully expect.

When people first walk in the door, we offer them a drink, show them round, have a little chat and try and break the ice.

We then show them where we’ll be starting at half past and let them know to grab a seat when they’re ready.

When I pointed that room out to one lady last week she responded with “Is that where you’re going to brain wash me?”

“That’s the plan” I responded.

###########################

Our brains weren’t designed to cope with the volume of ‘stuff’ they have to nowadays.

On a daily basis we have to make thousands of more decisions that our caveman ancestors ever did.

We deal, on average, with way more stress than forefathers had to.

A constant barrage of social media and marketing telling us we’re not doing well enough.

Our brains do need a wash sometimes.

To clean away all this ‘stuff’ that makes looking after ourselves so much harder.

Adding more and more stuff to our already busy and challenging lives is never the answer.

Simplification is the key.

Systems, easy wins, big returns on investment.

Washing away those self limiting beliefs we’ve developed that make it harder to do those things.

Cleaning out all that other stuff we don’t really need that gets in the way.

French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery once said “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away”

Perfection isn’t what we’ve after.

Progression is.

Progression, not perfection.

Wash away all that stuff holding you back.

And keep stepping forward.

Bit by bit 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘Car’ Hall and Matt ‘Face’ Nicholson
