Who else does this?

You’re filling up the car.

Go to pay.

And decide to grab a drink.

In part, because you’re already spending £50+.

It kinda feels like a free drink, doesn’t it?

It kinda just feels like you’re spending £58.12 on fuel rather than £55.62 on fuel and £2.50 on a drink.

Much like food can feel the same.

Finishing off the kids’ meals.

The bigger portion someone else serves us.

The little bit left in the bottom of the dish that wasn’t part of our original portion.

The extra bit of cake or biscuits that someone “insists” that we have.

The free dessert we weren’t expecting.

The little bits we graze on throughout the day.

None of them feel like we’ve really spent our calories on them do they?

They kinda didn’t count.

But, in the way that matters, they did.

Just like our bank balance will be equally affected if we buy that drink separately or as part of a bigger transaction………..

Our waistline is equally affected however we consume those calories.

Irrespective of how we perceive that situation.

And, if anything, those little extras are the difference makers.

An amount of ‘expense’ is unavoidable.

Those little extras that are avoidable may make the difference between creating a deficit or a surplus.

Whether that’s in our bank balance or our bodies.

Much love,

Jon ‘Free Lunch’ Hall
