Yesterday I mentioned The Library Of Babel.

A fictional, infinite library where all combinations of text exist.

I say fictional.

Someone’s knocked one up.

https://libraryofbabel.info

Now, they haven’t spent infinity writing it all out.

It’s an algorithm.

One that is able to generate the reference positions for all combinations of text.

And vice verse – the combinations of letters at all reference positions.

Go to the same place and you’ll always get the same text.

Search for the same text and it will always be in the same place.

So, it is, essentially, a Library of Babel.

All information exists in there.

The answer to every question or problem you could ever think of.

It knows what you should have for tea, what the best solution for that problem at work is and the name of every person you’ll ever meet.

The problem, of course, is that 99.99% of it is gibberish.

Wading through it to find your answers would be a colossal waste of time.

A bit like the internet.

The answer to everything we need to know is in there.

Has been for many years.

There have been meal plans and free workout videos on there for ages.

But the nation as a whole, is getting fatter, sicker and more miserable year on year.

The problem isn’t a lack of information.

It’s too much information.

We get paralysis by analysis – less sure than ever what to do to get in better shape.

Or we jump from one approach to the next too frequently for any one to get us anywhere.

There’s little to nothing we could tell you that you couldn’t find for free on the internet.

There’s a device in your pocket that can tell you everything you’ll ever need to know.

———- And it’s a device that can cause more problems than it solves, as I’ll cover tomorrow ————

The difference we make is to cut through all that ‘noise’ and just help you get the essential stuff done.

And to give you some accountability around that.

And helping make the difference between “I know what I need to do, I just need to do it” and……….

“I’m doing it”.

Consistently, over time until we get where we want to be.

The most expensive mistake we can make is to learn from our own mistakes.

It’s much cheaper to learn from other people’s mistakes.

If you’re a member already, don’t overcomplicate it.

Don’t tell yourself “it’s too complicated”.

We ask two things of you per week:

1. Set a worthwhile but doable plan for the week and do it

2. Book some Sessions

If you need some help with the food side of things;

3. Track your food and show us

There are more steps we can take after that, sure.

But, if we’re not doing those, those are the things to start with.

More complicated isn’t the answer if we’re not doing less complicated yet.

If you’re not already a member, honestly what are you waiting for? A more complicated approach isn’t the answer. “Just doing it” will lead to where that approach always does.
