This last Saturday was our monthly social.

A Race Night this time.

You know – watch videos of the runners and riders, make your predictions and then watch the race.

It was also leaving drinks for Ninja Coach Andy.

Having finished his degree last month, he’s off to London to seek his fame and fortune.

He’s been a great member of the team for the last 3 years.

And will be sorely missed.

Last week I was putting together his leaving present.

It’s a framed mosaic picture.

The main picture is a copy of a spoof film poster Sam, our photographer and design guy, once made up of Andy as Wolverine.

But it’s made up of hundreds of smaller images of Andy at various RISE things over the years – socials, Born Survivors, sessions and more.

To get these pictures I went on Andy’s Facebook wall and scrolled through the pictures he’d been tagged in.

Many of which were RISE ones.

Some were before and afters, testimonial videos or reviews from members.

Many of which are still with us.

But, some aren’t.

Seeing these made me a little sad.

the value of personal training

Seeing comments like “It’s completely transformed my life. I’ve never felt better” and so on.

And knowing that, in some cases, those people left some time later.

For no real reason.

Just lost a bit of motivation.

Let the challenges that had always been there get in the way more and more.

Deciding that they needed to save a bit of money when the costs and other finances were no different to when they were making great progress.

And, from what I’ve seen on Facebook, have slowly slipped back to where they were before.

Some have gone from strength to strength, sure.

But many had regressed to (or, at least, nearer to) the place they were so happy to have left.

All to save a pound or two per day.

Which is what makes me sad.

The Value of Personal Training

That we didn’t quite manage to get them through that bit where they questioned time and money and whether it was the best thing for them.

Even though it so clearly was.

So, if you’re one of those that have dropped off and gone backwards, we’d love to have you back and get you back to that better place.

If you’re currently a ninja, hopefully this might be part of stopping you becoming someone that makes me sad in a year or two.

If you haven’t tried us out yet, maybe check the briefing meeting at RISE in Macclesfield if you like the sound of somewhere that actually cares whether you get results or not.

We get that healthy living, etc takes time, effort and money.

But it’s more than worth it – everyone that’s ever made those changes has agreed. That’s the value of personal training.

Just some have then forgot 🙁

Much love,
