It was cold the other week wasn’t it?
Minus eight where my two eldest sons go to school.
And still they had classmates in in shorts (I had to dissuade mine from doing the same).
Snow on the ground for days.
Only melts once it goes above zero, of course.
That’s water for you.
You could warm an ice cube up from minus -20 to -10 to -1 and nothing would seem to happen.
Pass 0 though and it melts.
But without that first twenty degrees of temperature increase, which didn’t seem to do anything, nothing would’ve happened.
Everything that came before helped lead up to that result.
And the results we can get in life can often seem the same.
Nothing seems to happen even though we’re “doing everything right”.
Until, eventually, it does happen.
Those ‘overnight successes 15 years in the making’.
The promotion we finally get at work.
And, sometimes, our weight loss efforts.
It’s rarely that straight line of progress over time that we would like it to be.
A consistent X lbs per week until we hit out goal.
Sometimes it doesn’t move for a while.
Then does.
If we’re doing what needs to be done, sometimes it’s the equivalent of warming that ice cube.
—————- It’s always worth double checking we are doing what needs to be done if we’re not 100% sure though. Let us know if that’s the case —————-
Stick with it – it will “melt” eventually 🙂
