Once upon a time, in the olden days…………..

Probably around the time my kids seem to think I had my childhood………..

25th December was a pagan festival.

“Dies solis invicti nati”.

“The celebration of the unconquerable sun”

Having been beaten down to the shortest day of the year on the 21st, it’s starting it’s comeback.

——– As an aside, it’s taken writing this for me to realise that days only get longer in winter and only get shorter in summer, counter intuitive as that seems ————

It happens to the best of us, of course.

At this time of year, even in a normal year.

The short days and bad weather.

On top of the normal trials and tribulations of life.

Compounded with the particular challenges of the last couple of years.

It’s very easy and very normal to feel a bit beaten down by life.

I have conversations daily with people who express this.

At this time of year especially.

Since March last year more than ever.

We get it.

But…………

Like the sun…………..

You’re unconquerable.

You can be knocked back.

You can stumble and struggle.

But you won’t be beat.

You can start to make your comeback.

The sun is doing it as we speak.

Maybe it’s your time too?

Much love,

Jon ‘Dies pugilatu’ Hall

P.S. Step one of that comeback for you could be getting involved in our programme. If you always do what you’ve always done come January, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. Apply now at www.myrise.co.uk/apply.
