I was thinking about the original Ghostbusters film the other day.

Like you do.

You may remember that, at the end, the city is attacked by a giant Stay-Puft marshmallow man.

This happens because Gozer (“a Sumerian shape-shifting god of destruction”) allows the four Ghostbusters to decide what form he will take to sacrifice them.

They attempt to empty their minds but Ray accidentally chooses when the marshmallow man “just popped in there”.

Because it’s pretty much impossible to not think of anything.

At least not for long.

And more than we might realise, what we think about does end up ‘manifesting’ itself in our life.

Not through some “law of attraction” magic.

But just because the more we think about certain things, the more likely that is to affect our behaviour.

Concentrating on what we don’t want can often mean that we end up getting more of it.

Whether that be our excess body fat………

Other aspects of our body and health………

How we ‘want to feel’……..

The type of relationships that we want in our life………

The way that we want to be treated……….

Or pretty much anything else.

‘Moving away from pain’ has its place, of course.

But, if that’s our only focus, history has probably shown us that we end up moving back in that direction over time.

We’re always going to be thinking about something.

So the more we can think about what we do want and the direction that we want to go in………

The more likely that is to happen.

Where our attention goes, our energy flows and results show..

What we appreciate, appreciate.

So, let’s focus on what we do want.

And, like the giant Stay-Puft marshmallow man, see that come to life.

Much love,

Jon ‘Who you gonna call?’ Hall

P.S. I’ll cover what I consider to be the major limitation of “‘The law of attraction’ tomorrow.

P.P.S. In all seriousness, call me. Or, actually, fill in the form at www.myrise.co.uk/apply and I’ll arrange to call you. No salesly stuff, no pressure – we’ll just have a look at the programme and see if we’re a good fit for each other. And, if we are, my programme could be the equivalent of the ‘Ghost Trap’ – making a problem you weren’t getting sorted by yourself, go away surprisingly easily.
