Here’s one I’ve been saying to my two older boys more and more recently.

“It’ll all end in tears”

Usually moments before one of them gets hurt.

It’s literally just happened as I’m writing this and one them has been sent head first into the floor in front of me by the other.

We’ve all been there though.

Learned from it.

Over the years learned to avoid those moments of acute pain caused by one or two bad decisions.

We don’t always get good at the opposite though.

Avoiding (or minimising) that chronic pain caused by lots and lots of slightly less good decisions.

The little ones that don’t mean much by themselves.

But that add up.

To less energy than we’d like.

A body we don’t like the look and feel of.

Mood down, irritability up.

More chance of many health related problems.

Each missed workout means next to nothing.

Each less good food or drink choice makes next to no difference.

But they all add up.

And, bit by bit, become our habits.

A little vote for the person we see ourselves becoming.

Like my boys fighting, it feels fun while it’s happening……….

But………

“It’ll all end in tears.”

Much love,
