I hate ironing.
I’ll freely admit it.
I can do it perfectly well and always did when I lived by myself.
But, nowadays, my fiancé (as she is now) does 90% of it and I do other stuff more to make it fair.
The thing with ironing is that it’s a never ending job.
With 5 of us in the house there’s a constant cycle of things going through the washer, to the dryer to the ironing pile.
Never ends.
Within a few hours of catching up on the ironing a new load will be ready.
That’s life though.
Ironing isn’t something you can just do once and then it’s done.
We just need to accept that.
Simple fact of life.
It’s like getting in shape.
A common mistake that people make is that they’ll see getting in better shape as a short term thing.
They’ll go ‘on a diet’ in the run up to a certain event.
Exercise regularly until they run out of ‘motivation’.
And will therefore ‘yo-yo’ back and forth.
With the overall direction, over the years, generally being backwards.
Those that are in lifelong good shape are always ones that see the things that need to be done as something they’ll always need to do.
I make my enjoyable workouts as enjoyable as possible.
I make healthy eating ‘just part of my life’ and the things I eat as tasty as I can.
But, if it turned out you could be in great shape (and health, energy, sleep, etc) by eating ice cream and chocolate all day and never exercising, I’d probably be up for that.
It’s a simple fact of life that to get the things we want in life, there are things we have to do.
To have the body, health, etc that we want we will need to exercise 3+ times per week and eat healthily 90%+ of the time.
FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!
Like the ironing, the sooner we accept that, the easier it becomes!
