We mentioned yesterday the ‘bullshit stories’ that people tell themselves as to why they can’t achieve the goals they want to.

Amongst them is one we’ve heard many times over the years.

Some sort of variation on “It’s alright for you, you live in a gym”.

Or “It’s easy for you, working in fitness”.

Kind of sounds obvious.

But we’d argue how true it is.

The only logistical advantage is the saving of however many minutes it takes someone to get to the academy / a gym / class / slimming club (or whatever else they do).

Probably 5 to 10 minutes three or four times a week.

So 15 to 40 minutes out of 10,080.

The getting changed, working out, buying, prepping and eating healthy food and so on all take exactly the same amount of effort.

And we’ve known plenty of FitPros over the years who actually don’t exercise much as they find it hard to switch from the work mode to exercise mode in the same place.

Or they’ve “been here for 12 hours already. I just want to get home”.

It’s hard to look forward to a workout in the same way as many do after a hard day, when your day had been filled with others’ workouts already.

And you never get compliments like “have you lost weight?” or “you’re looking good”.

Because it’s a given that you should be.

It’s only ever mentioned when you’ve put on a pound or two.

And we have the same general stresses and strains and difficulties that everyone does.

Money, work, people being ill and dying, relationships, kids, etc.

We’re not asking for sympathy by the way.

We love what we do and wouldn’t change it for the world.

Just helping you see through another one of those ‘bullshit stories’ that might be holding you back.
