Amongst the various things we got our kids for Christmas were some books.

They all enjoy reading and / or been read to.

The two older boys (10 and 12) feel they’re too old for “bedtime stories” but they still like me picking out some interesting facts from the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ or ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’.

And they and Izzie still read a lot by themselves.

But the youngest is only four and still loves a good bedtime story.

One of the books we got him was about pirates and buried treasure.

X marks the spot and all that.

Always buried isn’t it?

Never just out there on show.

That’s treasure for you.

And not just of the gold coins in a wooden box variety.

All treasure in life is somewhat buried.

Takes some effort to get to it.

We don’t just randomly stumble across it.

The body and energy levels we desire.

The mood, the happiness and more.

The life in general.

Sure, we can ‘work smarter’.

Do the equivalent of using a spade (or a JCB) instead of a spoon.

Go for the big bang for your buck options.

Highest return on investment and all that.

But it’s always going to be buried.

If it wasn’t, we’d have it already.

And we’ll require some effort to get to it 🙂

Much love,
