The wife and I are having a new car delivered today.
It’s through her work scheme which, due to the company’s “green credentials”, now only offers electric cars.
So it’s our first ever electric car.
We’ve signed up to a new variable tariff so it will charge overnight when it’s the cheapest.
New energy flowing into the battery where it is stored for future usage.
As happens with our bodyfat.
Because, whilst body fat also has other purposes………
And there is, of course, more to eating than ‘energy’………
Body fat is one our principal method of storing energy.
Our ‘battery’ if you will.
There are other energy stores, of course (muscle, liver glycogen, within cells themselves, etc)……..
But normally around 80 to 85% of our stored energy is in bodyfat.
And no studies (mega accurate ones where the actual energy in a closed environment is measured and not just going off a BMR formula and some food labels) have ever shown anyone to gain weight when in anything other than an energy surplus.
Or to not lose weight when in deficit.
Much like a car, there might be differences in different people’s batteries.
Or within how much energy the ‘vehicle’ itself uses.
But that doesn’t mean those vehicles don’t have ‘batteries’.
Or that they don’t drain through use and ‘refill’ through charging with extra energy.
And remembering that is essential to making sure said vehicle runs how we’d like it to (and remembering to click www.myrise.co.uk/apply and change your life, rather than leaving it until that “better time” that’ll never come is even more essential to making last changes).
Much love,
Jon ‘3p a mile apparently’ Hall
