If you’ve read these blogs before, you’ll know we often recommend tracking our food.

You know – punching what we eat into an app like MyFitnessPal.

Not forever like.

Although some people do like to carry on doing it the majority of the time.

But 3-5 days is normally enough to get some useful insight.

To get some knowledge going forward.

Any approach to change our food works (from a weight loss perspective) if it creates a calorie deficit.

Doesn’t if it doesn’t.

Many FitPros (or your mate who has lost weight) will recommend a particular ‘method’.

Keto, Intermittent Fasting, 5:2, points, Atkins, portion control, food group elimination (cutting out a particular food), etc, etc.

All can work if that deficit is there.

None work automatically.

Tracking will give us the basic ‘shape’ of what we’re doing.

And we can continue ‘fill that in’ over time.

Like tracing paper.

Use it.

Then remove it.
