The wife and I are currently in the process of making a decision about what to do with one of our cars.

The older one has a number of bits of work that need doing.

There’s an engine warning light on and the garage have warned us that the work that they’re suggesting will probably cost more than the car will be worth.

And that it may not even solve all the problems and turn that warning light off.

Amazingly even WeBuyAnyCar isn’t interested – they won’t even look at it until the warning light is off.

But of course, it’s not the warning light that’s really the issue.

If I were to unplug it (although that’s probably not possible anymore) it wouldn’t mean that it was suddenly safe to drive.

That would just be masking the warning signs.

But, if we’re honest, we all do the same from time to time.

We momentarily deal with a symptom of the problem.

Rather than addressing the cause.

We use aspirin to cover up headaches caused by our diet and lifestyle and too much caffeine.

We use caffeine to cover up a lack of sleep.

We use food and alcohol to numb our emotions rather than dealing with the challenges that we’re facing.

Ignoring and hiding the warning signs that our body is giving us.

But, these things never address the actual problem.

In fact they often make it worse.

It’s just like unplugging the warning light.

Much love,

Jon ‘Guilty of all of the above with caffeine and alcohol at times’ Hall

P.S. Popping to is, I can literally guarantee you, the best first step you can take to addressing those problems!
