Anyone got a banking app on their phone?

Most of us I should imagine.

How often do you check it?

There’s no right or wrong answer.

If you take a quick glance every month and you’ve not gone into your overdraft, that’s fine.

If you’re spiralling into debt, checking it a few times a day and using what it says to make you question some of your expenditure might be a good idea.

I don’t think anyone would say that was obsessive.

Just a common sense way to help you pay a bit more attention to those pounds in vs. pounds out and make some adjustments accordingly.

You’ve probably already made this jump………………

But it’s the equivalent of using an app like MyFitnessPal to track our food and drink.

You don’t have to do it.

If you’re losing weight at a rate you’re happy with, or maintaining at your target, you don’t need to.

An occasional glance in the mirror, maybe pop on a scale every few months if you like, should do it.

If you’re gaining weight, or not losing as fast as you’d like and not 100% sure why……………

It’s probably worth taking a few minutes out of your day to do it.

I know some people think it to be obsessive.

But, maybe, for someone who’s unhappy with their weight and body…………….

The nutritional content of their food……………

Is one of the better obsessions they could have (if you’re looking for another good obsession to have, you might want to check out what we do down here at RISE and our Group Transformation Programme –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

If anything, it takes the emotion out of it.

No good or bad foods.

No guilt.

Just “I realise I’ve been ‘overspending’ so am just going to check where.”

And “What can I do to get back in ‘budget’?”

Not checking your banking app when you’re spiralling into debt is questionable at best.

Same for checking what’s going in and out if you’re not happy with your weight.

Much love,

‘Lloyds’ JCW Hall and Matt ‘ABS’ Nicholson
