As I’ve mentioned, this week we’ll probably all eat and drink more than normal.

I include myself in that.

Perfectly normal.

I wouldn’t expect anything else.

But I’m sure you wouldn’t expect anything else from me, but to help you ask a few questions around that so you don’t massively regret it come January.

In the same way I do year-round.

Because it’s often little questions about what we do and slight changes to our mindsets and belief that drives better results.

Because often the changes that actually need to happen aren’t that massive.

If someone is gained a stone and half in one year that equates to an overconsumption of about 200 calories per day

Around 10% of an average person’s consumption.

Their over consumption by 10% didn’t lead to a 10% difference in weight gain.

It led to all of it.

And whilst I’m sure we’ll all be going higher than 10% over consumption over Christmas……….

A bit of common sense and damage limitation around that can make a huge difference.

Many members at RISE find they gain a pound or two over Christmas whereas it used to be five or ten.

And, again, they do that by actually enjoying Christmas more, not less.

Not pretending that a bit of overconsumption means that anything has been “failed” or there’s anything to “write off” to justify greater over consumption.

A bit of reduction on the normal meals that are no different to then average out those bigger meals.

We can have a great Christmas but remember that a few tactical adjustments can lead to enjoying it more not less and being in a better position come January.

Much love,

Jon ‘Nightingale Hart’ Hall

P.S. Some people tell me I shouldn’t bother including links in blogs around now as “everyone’s busy” and “no-one’s buying”. Experience has taught me that this is nonsense – most will be on their phones more this week and already starting to think about how we’re doing to ‘undo’ this week come January.
