—————— During the coronavirus situation, we are supporting our members solely online and are, therefore, not taking on any new members until we can return to a mixture of in-person and online support. Stay on the email list, enjoy the blogs and we’ll let you know when we’re open for applications again 🙂 ———————
If you’ve read these blogs for a while (and, if not, where have you been?) that we often get days where a number of people say, give or take, the same thing to us.
Often inspiring a blog or two.
After all, if one person is asking us something, they won’t be the only one wondering.
If several ask / say it, there’ll probably be dozens others thinking it.
Anyway………..
The other day I had several people say “It’s not a good time”.
A couple were wanting to cancel.
A few had been asking for information.
And some existing members not getting the results they’d like.
And I get that.
It can definitely feel that way.
That’s it’s not a good time for it.
That it all feels like yet another thing on top of all that other stuff we’ve got going on.
But………..
It’s probably worth considering a couple of things.
Firstly………..
It’s never a ‘good’ time.
The other things may change.
But there’ll always be things.
The stars will never magically align.
It’ll get, at best, marginally easier and marginally harder.
But it’ll never be all that different.
There’ll never be a good time.
And we’ll never get what we want if we’re wait.
And, secondly…………
In some ways…………
It’s the best time.
Often the reasons we give………..
Are exactly the reasons for looking after ourselves.
For giving ourselves more energy.
More focus.
More endurance.
For helping with mood and mental health.
For giving out mind and body what it needs to become the best (or, at least, better) possible version of itself.
The kids, the spouse, the job, the business, the family, etc………..
All benefit when we take care or ourselves.
And when we see it like that……….
Rather than “dieting”, restriction and forcing ourselves to do something we feel obliged to do………….
It becomes so much easier.
Something we, perhaps, have to slow down and speed up on as circumstances dictate.
But not something we stop or start.
Looking after ourselves so we can do all that other stuff better and cope with it more easily?
It’s always a good time for that.
Much love,
