I mentioned in yesterday ‘s blog about, all else being equal, hard work producing more results than not working hard.
And I stand by that.
However, it’s often important to remember, that it’s not necessarily the amount of effort that goes into something that dictates the results.
It’s the actual things that we do.
We can work long hours in physically demanding job but that doesn’t necessarily make us loads of money (but it will make us more money than working less hard for less hours in the same job).
And we can put lots of effort into changing our food and exercising without that necessarily leading to great physical changes………
If the right boxes aren’t being ticked.
We can cut out food groups, not eat at certain times of the day, avoid socialising or any other of a myriad of potentially challenging adjustments that we can make………
But we won’t lose weight if we’re not on a calorie deficit.
We can spend hours a week doing something that is technically exercise………
But will only get so far if there’s not some degree of progressive overload in there and a sufficient protein intake.
Hard work is great.
But it’s a multiplier of the actual things that we’re doing.
Hard work at the wrong things will produce minimal results.
Moderate work at the right things will produce more.
Hard work at the right things is even better.
So let’s make sure we’re doing more of option two than we are of option one (you’ll get proven help – four times Top 6 in the UK at the National Fitness Awards – in doing that at www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
Much love,
