I’ve mentioned that I went to Macc Beer Festival last Friday.

I was chatting to some of the school dads.

And they were very interested in what we do down here A L’RISE .

I explained that we worked a lot on mindset, habits, thought processes, etc with our ninjas.

“Yeah, but what do they actually do? You know, what do they eat, what’s the exercise like?”

“Well, basically it’s just a balanced diet of natural foods and three or more group workouts per week” was my (approximate) reply (I was a few beers in by that point).

“It’s not that simple though is it?” came one reply.

A comment we’ve heard thousands of times over the years.

And you’ve maybe said more than once.

“It’s not that simple”

The thing is though, it is.

Easy?

No!

Simple?

Yes!

Most things in life are fairly straight forward.

I sometimes think I’d like to be better at singing and drawing.

There’s no arguing that if I took a lesson of each once a week and practiced for 20 minutes everyday I would get considerably better fairly quickly.

Not world class, but much better.

Easy?

No!

Simple?

Yes!

The fact that I haven’t even tried shows I’m not that bothered and I’ve decided it’s not worth the effort.

But it doesn’t make it any less simple.

We’ve mentioned before that it’s human nature to complicate things.

It’s a very easy justification to give ourselves for not doing them.

And it’s an easy justification to get ‘stuck in’.

When we realise that’s not the case, we have to look a bit deeper.

Ask different questions.

And, hopefully, get different answers.

You might decide it’s not worth the effort.

That’s cool.

No right or wrong.

Everyone makes their own choices in life.

But accepting that getting in shape is very simple often helps people take and continue the actions they want to do.

Much love,

Jon ‘Simple as they come’ Hal and Matt ‘K.I.S.S.’ Nicholson
