When people start arriving for our monthly find out more meeting (myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting for the next one for the January programme) we welcome them as they come in and have a little chat.
In the minutes before we’re due to start people often have a look round, particularly at the hundreds of before and after pictures that adorn our walls.
At last month’s meeting, one of the (soon to be) new starters pointed to a picture of her friend who came a few years ago and had done brilliantly.
“I came on her recommendation. She loved it here. She say it’s the only thing that every worked for her. She’d regained all the weight since though. And more.”
Which made me sad 🙁
And, unfortunately, it’s something I’ve heard a lot over the years.
Often from ex-members coming back after trying something else (cheaper) for a while.
“It’s the only thing that’s ever worked for me” they often say.
Which is nice in one way.
We’re obviously doing something right.
But a shame that people are going backwards to save a pound or so a day.
I get that what we do costs a little more than joining a gym or slimming club does.
But it’s waaaayyyyyyy less than what I would say a closer comparison (regular one to one work with a Personal Trainer – £400+ per month for three sessions a week with an entry level trainer plus gym membership).
And I get that we have finite budgets.
And that sometimes we really need to trim our outgoings.
And if someone was going and getting equally life changing results and saving a few pounds, that would be understandable.
But when we continue to drive nice cars, have Sky TV, eat out regularly and holiday abroad…………
Whilst our health and happiness slides backwards………..
To save a little money………….
That’s everyone’s call, of course…………..
But it does make me a little sad 🙁
So, if you’re already with us and thinking of saving a little money, please only do so if you’re 100% sure you’ll get the same results with whatever else you’ll try.
