At school, it was quite a straightforward process.

We had some lessons.

Learned some stuff.

And then had an exam at the end to test us.

Seems obvious.

Doesn’t fully reflect our experience of the rest of our lives though.

Often in life we get the test first.

Sometimes completely unexpected.

And we fail it.

Or, at least, don’t do as well as we might like.

Failure, after all, been a subjective term.

And we’ve got a couple of choices then.

We can take the lesson.

Learn from it.

Do better next time.

Or we can try and avoid future tests (I’ll fully admit that what we help our members do can be testing at times. But avoiding the test doesn’t mean we pass it. The exact opposite. It’s when you’re ready to take the tests in the easiest and most fun way we can make happen).

And I think we all know which approach will get us the best results longer term.
