I was at A&E in Macc with my eldest son on Sunday morning.
He’d hurt his hand at Alton Towers on Saturday and it wasn’t feeling much better when he woke up so we went to get it checked out.
There were several signs in the waiting area that caught my eye.
Designed to make the point that, even if it didn’t look very busy in the that area, they were busy overall.
And, therefore, asking people to be patient with any waiting they would have to do.
One read “It might not look very busy in here……. that’s because it’s busy very in there”.
Because we don’t always know what we can’t see.
And it’s tempting to let what we can see dictate our opinion of the whole situation.
It’s easy to say of our friend that “They can eat whatever they want to and never gain weight”………
When we, at most, maybe see 10% of what they eat in the week.
Or we think that they’re “naturally in great shape” or “have a great metabolism” when we don’t see all the other food choices they make and the hours of exercise that they’re doing.
To think that others have it easier than us or have less to do when we know only a fairly small proportion of what they’ve got going on.
Sometimes it’s powerful to know that we don’t know what we don’t know.
That there’s often more going on than we realise.
And whatever the case to just then do what we need to do to get the outcome that we desire (clicking www.myrise.co.uk/apply and having a go at our 4 week trial will make that much more likely).
Much love,
Jon ‘We were in and out in under an hour, which was awesome’ Hall
