I heard a great expression the other day.
It’s the one in the subject line to this.
“It’s where you live, not where you visit”
As in “If you live in the gym, you can visit McDonald’s and be fine”.
But if you live in McDonald’s and visit the gym, it won’t do much.
Note: Other fast food establishments are available.
And there’s nothing wrong with McDonald’s – my oldest son starts working there today and we go there on occasion.
And we can actually make this really literal.
Where we actually live, our home, is where we spend the majority of our time and where we consume the majority of our food and drink.
Even the most socially active will really only spend a fairly small proportion of their time eating away from home.
We can average out our home consumption to enable socialising and eating out to still work.
Eating in a 10 or 15% deficit in the week allows a 100% over consumption on Friday and Saturday night.
It’s when we tell ourselves that we’ve “failed” and “need to start again” at some point in the future………
And then over consume at home as well that it becomes an issue.
Much love,
Jon ‘Ronald’ Hall
P.S. Part of the reason our members do so well is that when you’re surrounded by people who are getting their Sessions in and making better food choices, that swings your ‘norm’. Jump in at www.myrise.co.uk/apply for a 4 week, risk free trial of that!
