We’ve had several conversations with people recently.

People in the early stages of changing their lifestyles with us.

People expressing their concern that they’ve been hungry more since they started with us.

And / or that they’re worried that they’re eating more than before.

One comment that really stopped me in my tracks the other day was “I’ve spent decades fighting against my appetite. I’m just worried about giving in to it.”

My reply was what I’m going to tell you know.

Your appetite is your friend.

Your appetite wants what’s best for you.

As a species our appetite has served us well.

Taking us from monkeys to space travel with very few issues related to body fat levels and the problems that can cause.

The problems arise when we confuse our bodies.

Feed it things it isn’t designed to be fed.

Try and power it on sugar and caffeine.

When it’s not designed to work that way.

It’s like putting the wrong fuel in a car and then being annoyed when it doesn’t run well.

The human body is designed to run on meat, fish, veg, fruit, etc.

Not on Franken-foods made up of a mixture of something that once was food and assorted chemicals we can’t process effectively.

It’s designed to run on a balance of carbs, fat and protein (as we teach our members – myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

Not just carbs.

If you’re eating the right sort of stuff and you’re hungry, have some more.

If you’re not, stop.

Simples!!!!!

If the problem is cravings, sugar addiction, boredom, emotional eating and so on………

Then that’s a different issue.

Work on them but don’t fear your appetite.

He is your friend 🙂

Much love,
