Karen is another one of our ninjas.
She’s lost over 10kilos since being with us.
And, most importantly, is much happier and feeling better than when we first met her.
Karen also always has really nice nails.
And since she’s been with us, she’s been doing them in the style of the ninja band she is on.
For anyone who doesn’t know, our ninja bands are a series of levels with corresponding bands that ninjas work through to recognise and reward their progress on their journey with us.
They’re all about that person progressing – not hitting an ‘absolute standard’.
So when she started with us she did her nails in the style of a ‘White Wolf’ – white nails with a wolf decal on.
The following month she painted them yellow and added a snake decal when she got to ‘Yellow Viper’.
And so on.
She now has green nails with dragons on as she’s got to ‘Green Dragon’.
Much like the bands themselves are meant to be used, Karen uses these nails as a reminder to herself.
Of the promises she has made to herself.
Of the journey she’s on.
Many times a day, she’ll see them and be reminded.
If she reaches for that slice of cake or biscuit at work, they will remind her.
If she goes to press the cancel button for a session she’s booked, they will remind her.
If she reaches for a glass of wine after a stressful day, they will remind her.
You get the idea.
If you’re a ninja and not wearing your band, then get it on.
If you can’t wear it at one times or, for some crazy reason, you’re not a ninja, then find something else to remind you.
When your faced with all those little decisions that add up to achieving or failing your goal, if you have something to remind you of that journey and those promises, then you’ll be more likely to make the ‘right decisions’.
Much love,
Jon ‘Not taken my bands off in two years’ Hall and Matt ‘Might get mine tattooed on’ Nicholson
P.S. Matt’s mum – he’s joking!
