I was having a chat with our lovely new ‘Ninja Coach’ ‘Kick Ass Kirsty’ t’other day.

 

She and her friend had helped out at an event at a local school recently.

 

Taking some of the Year 11 pupils through a workout session.

 

And a local gym had done the same.

 

She commented how little control the gym staff had over the session.

 

How it didn’t go anywhere near as smoothly as the one she took.

 

And how they ‘ran out of stuff to do’ with 10 minutes left.

 

And we’re struggling answering questions.

 

“It made me realise how much goes into what we do here” she said.

People sometimes tell me what we do here sounds ‘easy’.

 

After all, “it’s just showing people some exercises and chatting to members”.

 

That’s obviously ignoring the emails, videos, etc we do.

 

And the businessey stuff.

 

And the studying, courses, etc.

 

It’s only when you see sessions taken badly and the complete lack of results most people get elsewhere that you realise there’s more to it than that.

 

Years of experience go into making a session flow smoothly and effectively for lots of people of differing fitness levels, experience, ability, injuries, confidence, etc.

 

Every conversation we ever have is individually pitched to that person to help them get the most from it.

 

To help them the get the best results.

 

We often get people returning to us who’ve tried other ‘similar’ things commenting that it was ‘similar on paper’ to what we do.

 

But didn’t work anywhere near as well in practice.

 

The difference in what we do is often in the subtleties.

 

The little things that make a difference to each and every person and enable them to actually get where they want to get to.

 

There’s an old expression:

 

“It’s hard work making it look this easy”.

 

 

And it’s the same with when people get and stay in shape.

 

People often comment about how “it’s easy for you”.

 

Not realising all the effort that’s gone into getting them to that position.

 

All the working on the mind-sets, habits, self-limiting beliefs.

 

All the hours and hours of working out.

 

All the healthy choices they made that were hard to start with.

 

But got easier with time.

 

If you’re struggling with getting in shape……….

 

Then stick with it.

 

It will get easier.

 

There’s a reason not everyone does it.

It’s not as easy as it seems.

 

Every bit of hard work now will make it easier in the future.
