Over the last few days, I’ve used the word “coaching” a few times.
Talking about the coaching programme that I’m on and what I do for my customers (or ninjas as I like to call them).
And, if 11 years of running this business and 21 years in the Fitness Industry have taught me anything, it’s that the word “coaching” provokes different responses in different people.
“I don’t need ‘life coaching'”.
“Self help is for losers”.
“I don’t need self improvement”.
“Is it standing in front of a mirror telling myself that I’m strong and powerful?”
And I get that.
But there’s a few questions that can be asked to help us reframe what coaching is.
– Am I achieving absolutely everything that I would like to in all areas of my life?
– If not, would working with someone who’s living is gained helping people with that help me get there (or get there more quickly)? cough ** me ** cough –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply
– Isn’t all improvement (even with the help of others) of ‘ourselves’?
– If the last time we had someone help us improve was “at school” then did we peak aged 16?
Ultimately it takes a bit of humility to accept that we’ll do (even) better with help.
But we all can (and will).
Much love,
Jon ‘Ninja Coach’ Hall
