I started my first Personal Trainer role at the Sheffield Millhouses Fitness First nearly 12 years ago.

Paid them a weekly rent of £75 and got to keep everything I made above and behind that.
Which was cool by me.
Worked out a reasonably split when you had enough clients.
Which I always did.
But most of the other PTs liked to complain about it.
Even though they knew the score when they took to role.
One of the other trainers there was Olly Foster.
Who’s since gone on to feature on the most covers of Mens Health ever.
And become one of London’s top trainers.
Google him if you like pictures of handsome, muscular men in their pants.
He often said “It’s like complaining about the weather”.
Which is true – you may not always like it, but complaining will have approximately zero effect.

It’s the same with the stuff you need to do to get the physique / fitness / health you desire.
We’re all for making it as easy as possible.
Creating habits.
Challenging thought processes.
And so on.
But you may not always like doing what you have to do.
But it’s like the weather.
It just is.
No use complaining about it.
Just crack on and make the most of it.
