There’s an often used quote in fitness / sports.

“To master something takes 10,000 hours of practice”.

Meaning that to become world class at something you need to have done it for 10,000 hours.

And I’m sure you’ve all heard the expression “Practice makes perfect”.

People often get discouraged by how difficult they find it to change their habits.

For example, they’ll try to start having or change their breakfast.

Click here receive our aweseome daily blogs, videos, podcasts, etc and find out how your can lose weight and change your life

And get frustrated when they don’t seem to be able to ‘get the hang of it’.

If that sounds like you (or you can think of something else you’ve struggled to change), then think “How many times have I done my old habit?”.

If you have eaten a certain way for 10 years, then you have done it 3,650 times.

You are well on your way to becoming one of the best in the world at not having breakfast / eating cereal or toast 😉

Or whatever your old habit is.

It’s going to take some time, and effort, to change that.

####################################

Now, the good news is that you don’t actually need to become world class at your new habit (eg: healthy breakfast).

You’re not entering the ‘Breakfast Olympics’.

You just need to become ‘good enough’.

And most research suggests about 20 times is the amount of practice it takes to become reasonable at something.

And to start to form the lasting habit that may, one day, lead to mastery.

If I told you had to commit to 3,650 healthy breakfasts (or some other new habit), you’d probably be put off, wouldn’t you?

But 20 goes?

You can give that a go can’t you?

Much love,
