On Friday I wrote about working harder in workouts.

And about how no one ever actually works at 100%.

And that realising that is powerful.

Getting a little closer to that drives more progress.

And, really, it’s the same with all effort.

Working smarter matters, of course,

But combining that with more effort is a double whammy.

We’ll all have days where we genuinely couldn’t have done any more………

I think we would be doing ourselves a disservice if we told ourselves we were always “trying our hardest” and “doing our best”.

I know I rarely do.

Again, doesn’t need to be 100%.

If anything, that’s an unrealistic target that sets us up to feel like we’ve failed.

But narrowing that gap even a little improves progress.

In whatever we’re trying to improve.
