One thing I have realised over my near twenty years in the Fitness Industry………..

And, especially, as part of the coaching programmes I’m part of, is this;

The fundamental basics never change.

There are different ways to do them and different considerations over time, sure.

But the basics are always under-pinning them.

Methods of marketing may have evolved over the years from purely verbal in person conversations to written material to radio to television to email to websites to social media, etc…………

But the basics of having a clear customer in mind and being able to clearly put across to them what problem of theirs you solve is still the same.

The method of delivery has changed (or been added to) – the basic principle hasn’t.

There’s a great saying;

Methods are many.

Principles are few.

Methods often change.

Principles never do

The principle of weight loss is still the same as it ever was.

A calorie deficit.

There are many methods to, potentially, achieve that that might suit us better for a variety of reasons (preferential, logistical, hormonal and so on)…………

But the principle never changes.

Same with getting fitter.

It’s need to be a form of progressive exercise.

Something that challenges the body in the ‘goldilocks’ zone.

Not too easy so it doesn’t do anything.

Not too hard do we don’t like it and don’t want to do it again.

Preferably fun (or, at least, sufficiently tolerable).

We can all find the method that suits us.

But never forgetting the principals at play – without them the method won’t get us what we want 🙂

Much love,
