I should imagine most of us have ridden the tube in London at some point.
Not in the fashion Ross and Monica’s Dad thought their Mum meant in Friends 😉
When you’re about to get on, there’s that little recorded voice that says “Mind the gap”.
Sage advice.
In more ways then one.
We all have ‘gaps’ in our lives.
The difference between our current reality and where you’d like to be.
Between the weight we are and the weight we’d like to be.
The difference in income we have and that we’d like.
Between our lifestyle and the one we want.
And so on.
And these gaps are, of course, useful.
They give us something to work towards.
Enable us to make things better.
But, the problem can arise, when we forget the size of what we’ve done already.
And think the size of the gap means we’re failing.
We forget the income we do make, the progress we have made, the hard work we have put in.
And feel like failures.
Having a life that we’re content with (constant happiness is an unrealistic target)………
Comes from a balance……….
Of a realistic ‘gap’ we are working towards closing (possibly starting by clicking this link –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting) ……….
And an appreciation of what we are already doing and have done.
You’re doing better than you think.
Never forget that!
Much love,
Jon ‘Toothed’ Hall and Matt ‘Generation’ Nicholson
