This morning at 5:45 my wife woke me up.
“Don’t you need to be at work?” she said.
She was correct.
I was already late at this point.
On a normal Monday I would have been just about OK as I can get up and get to the club in about 10 minutes.
But today is Coaching Day and I was late for some of our assessments.
It turns out I’d checked my alarm time last night, but I hadn’t noticed that it was deactivated (as I was away last week).
Entirely my fault.
Do you know what I did then?
I’ll give you a couple of options;
1 – Got to work as quick as I could and it made barely any difference in the grand scheme of things?
2 – Decided that I might as well “write off” the day, went back to bed and didn’t do any work at all for the rest of the day?
I’m sure you all went for option one, didn’t you?
Because option two would be mad, wouldn’t it?
Yet we’re often tempted to do the same with our eating aren’t we?
At one meal we have 8 or 10% of our weekly requirements rather than 5%………
And decide that means we need to continue to do the same for the remainder of the week (or month).
Instead of just dropping down to 4% per meal and averaging out easily enough.
Out of all the mindsets that we have that will hold us back and stop as achieving our results……..
“Writing off” periods of time as a justification for our choice is the one that makes the least sense and is probably easiest to change.
Much love,
Jon ‘Flying clotheline’ Hall
P.S. Another couple of mindsets that you might benefit from questioning are not trying us out because “it’s not a good time” or you’re “too busy”. It’s never a good time and you’ll always be busy. Everyone on our programme is. The programme is specifically designed to help with that. Take that next step and find out more (with a Money Back Guarantee) at www.myrise.co.uk/apply
