It’s been a challenging year for all of us.

In different ways and to different extents for different people, of course.

But challenging all round.

Different people have been affected in different ways.

The Fitness Industry has been hit hard.

I’ve been really pleased with how we’ve navigated it overall.

To say we’ve not been able to run in-person for two thirds of the last year, we’re really pleased with how many lives we’ve been able to positively impact and to what extent.

Many in the Fitness Industry are really struggling.

On the verge of bankruptcy.

Not in good places mentally and emotionally.

I get that.

But I’ve seen a few posts recently that I’d question.

Along the lines of “My business is failing through no fault of my own.”

Now, I’m not a fan of the word “fault”.

Too emotive to help in most cases.

But, in each of these cases, the FitPros I’ve seen have done very little to help themselves.

After years of saying they’re “too busy” to do videos, blogs, etc………..

They’ve had all the time in the world………..

And done none.

They’ve done nothing new or different over the last year.

Not learned new skills to diversify what they offer.

Just closed and waited until they can reopen.

Maybe a half hearted attempt to “go online”.

Whilst others, like ourselves, have done everything we can.

To support those who want our support.

Better than ever in many ways.

And, of course, to be able to pay the bills and feed our kids (not mutually exclusive to wanting to help people too).

No one “deserves” a struggling business, of course.

But, if we’re not doing what we could to help it perform better, is it really “no fault of own”?

And it’s the same with our bodies.

Lots of different things are factors.

Age, injuries, illnesses and more are all considerations.

But, if we’re not doing everything we could?

Fault is the wrong word.

“Responsibility” maybe?

Our “choice” perhaps?

Doing “everything” is, of course, impossible.

But could we be doing more?

Whilst a struggling business owner could do more to get themselves in a position that they were ok with…………..

Could we be doing a bit more to get our bodies in a position that we’re ok with?

Much love,
