I saw a post on Facebook the other day.
“Everyone wants a million pound business” it began.
“But no one wants to commit to paying out 70 grand a month”.
“Everyone” and “No one” might not be quite true………
But it’s thought provoking, isn’t it?
The idea of owning a business that turns over a million pounds a year, sounds good doesn’t it?
But that million pounds is never going to be all profit to us.
Even if we were to keep a hundred odd grand of it……..
The business would be paying out 70 grand a month.
To grow the business to that level, we’d have to commit to 70 grand a month of wages and other costs.
Most of that to be paid whether we turn over more than that or not.
The benefit sounds pretty great……..
Until we become aware of what comes hand in hand with it.
Much the same as any benefits.
We’re all for working smarter, not harder, of course.
For the big return on investment activities.
For challenging our mindsets that underpin things and are, perhaps, making it all harder than it has to be.
But, yeah – they’ll be things that need to be done to make that happen.
If there wasn’t, it would’ve happened already.
That body we like the look and feel of and that serves us well……..
Will mean changes to the way we eat.
Making different choices.
It will probably involved some form of exercise a few times a week.
Even (especially) when we don’t feel like these things.
If we’re not willing to do these things………
To do the equivalent of committing to 70 grand a month of expenses……..
Then that’s fine.
No right or wrong.
Our lives to do with as we please.
But if we can accept those ‘costs’ (and get comfortable with that)……….
Then we might just find the ‘profit’ we get makes it all more than worthwhile.
Much love,
