Here’s a list of reasons that people may give for having gained weight;

– “It was my birthday”

– “I’ve been socialising a lot”

– “It was Christmas”

– “I’ve been on holiday”

Now all of those seem like perfectly valid reasons for gaining weight.

But there’s a crucial part missing from the end of the sentence.

“……. and I didn’t average out elsewhere”.

Because, ultimately, that’s the reason that we gain weight.

It’s very rare that the thing that we mention can’t be averaged out across the rest of the week or month.

Even at an incredibly busy time of year for socialising like Christmas, I’d be surprised if many of us go out more than 10 times in the month.

10 meals out of 93.

Can it really be the case that we have so much during those 10 meals, that it’s completely impossible to reduce the other 83 by enough to average out?

I genuinely don’t think it can be.

The same can be said around birthdays, holidays or any other occasions.

The question that we could always ask is………

Has everyone in the world always gained weight whilst having those things and doing them in the same way that we did?

The answer, will of course, be “No”.

Some people will have averaged out elsewhere to have not gained weight.

And we can do that.

Strip back the emotion and the guilt(we’re good at helping with that –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) and just make adjustments to what we do in the majority of the time where things are fairly normal.

Much love,
