Have you ever felt (or encountered) any of the following?

– Overwhelm

– Low mood

– Anxiety

– Stress

– Challenge

– Frustration

I’m reasonably confident we all said “Yes” to most, if not all, of them.

Maybe to different degrees, maybe different frequencies and maybe more or less readily………

But they are all things we experience.

Avoiding them completely is not an option.

Which is powerful to remember.

If there’s one thing worse than experiencing them………

It’s experiencing them and believing they are only ever bad things that we “shouldn’t be” experiencing.

If anything, avoiding them makes them inevitable.

Avoiding anything that makes us anxious will lead to a life that makes us anxious.

Avoiding challenge, overwhelm and stress will create a life we find challenging, overwhelming and stressful.

Avoiding frustrating experiences creates more frustration down the line.

Avoiding anything that negatively affects our mood short term will lead to negatively affected mood long term.

Reframing these emotions and situations from being “bad” or “negative”………

To “unpleasant” can be powerful.

It enables us to see that sometimes we have to do things that won’t feel nice……….

To create a life that will.

Not having them at all isn’t an option.

Being tactical in which we chose to create (and when) and welcoming them into our life is!

Much love,

Jon ‘Googling phrases starting with “not having” for this middle name brought up the Australian saying “Not having a bar of it”, which I’d never heard before’ Hall

P.S. We get that exercise isn’t always the most fun and that different food choices can be challenging. But we also get that they’re more than worth it for the benefit they create. It’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply for a proven system that’ll help with those and make them as enjoyable as possible
