Here’s a fairly sure fire way that you’ll get to the end of the week and think it was “a bit sh*t”.

Start the week with the only intention being to “get through it”.

Don’t have any specific goals that you’re working towards.

Don’t set any particular plans for what you intend to do that week outside of the standard.

Quickly write off everything that went well as “expected behaviour” and forget about it.

Focus more on the relatively small proportion of things that didn’t go as you might have liked.

Have food and alcohol as your only methods for improving how you feel (not saying they can’t be part of that, they are for me, just not the only ones).

If all that happens, is it really surprising that we don’t think it’s been a great week?

As I’ve mentioned over the last few days, we can choose to do the opposite.

Have specific intentions for what you can realistically achieve that week in line with things that you’re working towards that and motivates and inspires you.

Set actual plans for how and when these things will happen.

Record each day your three biggest wins (they’re always there no matter what you tell yourself).

Work on other methods of improving how you feel (exercise, meditation, yoga, relaxation techniques, etc).

I’ve never had anyone do these things for a period of time who hasn’t found them beneficial.

And I can guarantee those that have “sh*t weeks” on a regular basis aren’t doing them.
