Have you ever said “I don’t have time” for something?

I’m sure we all have.

Many times.

A powerful question in response to that could be the title to this blog.

“Okay, how long would it take?”

And anything less than a precise answer could, at least, be a suggestion that further investigation might be beneficial.

Because without really knowing how long something will take, how can we possibly say we don’t have enough time for it?

Many times people have told me that I haven’t had time to track their food.

And when I’ve asked how long it would have taken, the usual answer is “too much time”.

Which isn’t really an answer.

The actual answer is probably about 5 to 10 minutes a day for most people.

And if we genuinely have all of the 1,440 minutes in the day assigned to higher value activities, then that’s cool.

But what’s probably actually happened is that we just find it an inconvenience.

A “bit of a faff”.

A “pain in the @rse”.

So we don’t do it.

Which I get.

But that’s not a ‘lack of time’ issue.

Here’s a few more things we might think we don’t have time for;

– Exercise

– Meditation

– Journalling / scheduling / planning

– That side hustle / new project / business that we’ve wanted to do for ages

How long would they all take?

Like really, accurately exactly how long?

And if we really don’t have time then that’s cool.

But I’d wager that in many cases that would, at least, allow us to do more than we’re doing now.

Much love,
