Have you ever told yourself this?
Or a friend or family member has said it to you?
“One doesn’t matter”.
One bit of food.
One slice of cake or biscuit.
One skipped workout.
And you / they are right.
In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter.
The thing we’re considering having will probably be somewhere between 100 and 1,000 calories.
A fraction of a percentage of what we’ll consume over the year.
It’s the total that is made up of all the “ones” that matters.
That total is only ever achieved one at a time.
All we ever eat (or drink) is one.
We never (or rarely) have two or more at a time.
All that actually ever exists is the one in front of us right now.
Everything else is either what happened in the past………..
Or what could happen in the future.
Realising that is powerful.
All changes in life only ever come one decision at a time.
Remembering that might help us change which way that next one goes.
And tomorrow I’ll cover another important way of seeing those “ones” that you might not have considered.
Jon ‘Might or’ Hall
