Last Tuesday evening, after the kids had gone to bed, the wife and I laid out on the dining room table all the presents we’d got for everyone.
We wanted to double check what had arrived, what we were waiting for and what else we needed to go and get before wrapping on the Thursday.
Once we’ve laid everything out, we were kinda disappointed.
Wasn’t as much stuff as we’d expected.
Especially for the kids.
When we checked through everything, the total amount we’d spent on each of them had been pretty much what we normally would.
A reminder that as you get older, presents often get smaller and more expensive.
As, often, does our choice of facility for improving our body, health and fitness.
When we’re young, we start with GloboGyms.
As cheap as possible.
Usually massive.
Lots of equipment.
Appears amazing value.
A bit like a huge plastic toy a young child might get.
But that’s quickly forgotten come mid January.
It’s big, sure.
Looks funky.
But it’s not enough to maintain our attention.
As we get older, our presents get smaller, more expensive and, often, we use them for longer.
Which is like what we do at RISE.
A smaller facility, sure.
Less equipment than a GloboGym of course.
But much more substance.
Support.
Accountability.
Coaching.
Something you want to keep on using for longer.
Something you actually get far better money’s worth for.
If something costs twice as much, but you use it 10 times as much………
And get 10 times the benefit……….
That’s amazing value (check www.myrise.co.uk/apply if you’re ready to invest a touch more but for way more results)!
Big and cheap is fine if we get the usage out of it.
If we don’t, then going smaller and more expensive can make sense.
Much love,
