I talked in yesterday’s blog about pay rises, and now I’d like to delve into some **pay rise considerations** that might help you reflect on your situation.

Personal training session in Macclesfield discussing pay rise considerations.

I am 100% confident that our members achieve better results with us than they would by themselves.

Time and time again, year after year, people leave and then come back because they’ve slipped backwards.

Nearly always when people leave money is, at least, a consideration.

They might feel they need to cut back on their expenses.

Or perhaps that they’re not using what we do enough to justify the cost.

And I get that.

The human brain doesn’t like to feel that we’re not getting our money’s worth.

And the human brain isn’t very good at seeing the value of damage limitation or even of standing still when we would go backwards otherwise.

We feel we should get full usage of something and be making great forward progress for it to be worthwhile.

But, like many of our mindsets, that’s worth challenging.

Whatever level of results we’re getting, if our boss offered us a £3 a day pay increase……..

For worse results……..

Would we take it?

If we were currently maintaining our weight and our boss came to us and said;

“I’ll pay you £3 a day more if you gain a stone or two and become lower in energy and mood”

Or if we were slowly losing weight and getting fitter and feeling better and they offered the pay rise for that to stop and us go backwards?

I’m pretty sure we would all say no.

Even if we felt we really needed the money, we would make some little tweaks elsewhere to cover the £3 a day.

£3 a day for a body with like the look and feel of less………

For reduced energy and mood……..

For more aches and pains……..

For an increased chance of various health issues and, potentially, a shortened lifespan………

Is a terrible deal.

We wouldn’t take it that way around, would we?

So, even if our progress is less than we might ideally like, why would we take even worse results to save that?
